About Cartref Community
Cartref Community is a welcoming, inclusive project that brings Refugees & Asylum Seekers together through shared activities that improve health and wellbeing, build confidence, and create a stronger sense of belonging.
The programme is shaped with the community-participants help decide what we do and how it’s delivered-so it stays relevant, fun and empowering.
Activities range from regular sport and social meet-ups to outdoor education and trips across Wales and beyond, including football, hill walking, camping, climbing, kayaking and day trips such as the Brecon Beacons. We’ve also run community socials with shared food, games and summer BBQs, creating a relaxed space to meet people, make friends and connect.
Everything is completely free-no catches, no membership fees.
The simplest way to get involved is to join our WhatsApp community, where we share updates and announce upcoming sessions and trips.

CARTREF FOOTBALL
Cartref Football is a welcoming space to get active, build confidence and come and meet new friends through football.
We offer football coaching courses and supported sessions that help people improve skills, fitness and teamwork at their own pace-whether you’re new to the game or returning after a break.
We can also support introductions to local football teams, helping you take the next step into regular training and community sport.
And to inspire and reward participation, we often provide opportunities like tickets to international / championship football matches, giving people memorable experiences and a stronger connection to the wider football world. E

We offer an awesome community with a facility containing Pool, Table Tennis, PS5, Board Games, and a Gym.
